At Flinders Health2GO, our experienced Optometrists and Optical Dispensers provide the best possible eye care by combining latest technology with years of industry experience.

Our state-of-the-art clinic is home to the most comprehensive range of imaging and diagnostic equipment in South Australia.

We assist people with both chronic and acute eye health problems through general eye tests, our Diabetic Eye Clinic, Stroke and Brain Injury rehabilitation clinic, Australia’s only Autism Centre, plus clinics dedicated to children’s vision, low vision, contact lenses, and aviation, sport and occupational vision requirements.

General clinic

We’ll check every aspect of your eye health.

Have your eyes examined by Optometrists that educate our future Optometrists in an Optometry clinic like no other. Flinders Health2GO is a state-of-the-art Optometry clinic with huge range of the latest equipment in one location. In a general eye examination we will check every aspect of your eye health and will provide you with good, honest advice about treatment and options to help you see better. Our appointments average 45 minutes to an hour because we believe that getting to know you is the key to finding the best solution for your visual needs.

Diabetic Eye Clinic

An examination to detect and monitor eye health related to diabetes.

If you have been diagnosed with diabetes mellitus or are considered at risk of developing diabetes mellitus, we offer you a comprehensive examination of your eye health and vision—which can deteriorate even when diabetes is well managed. For this examination it is necessary to dilate the pupils, so please bring sunglasses and arrange for someone to drive you home.

Glaucoma examination

We help to monitor, co-manage and treat glaucoma.

We offer an investigation of the clinical signs of glaucoma, which may include automated visual fields, pachymetry, optical coherence tomography, stereo optic disc photography and applanation tonometry. This examination is available if you have glaucoma or have been identified as at risk of glaucoma.

Cataract examination

We monitor the development of cataracts and discuss the level of visual disability you are experiencing.

We investigate the symptoms of cataract, which may include a glare testing, contrast sensitivity and documentation of the cataract. We offer this examination if you are experiencing some level of visual disability due to cataract or have already been diagnosed with cataract.

Macular degeneration examination

We can detect and monitor macular degeneration and provide expert advice.

We look specifically for the clinical signs of macular degeneration. An optical coherence tomographer (OCT) and retinal photography are great tools to help diagnose and track changes to the macular. Unlike some Optometry clinics we use Zeiss Forum software to store images and track changes in your macular. This examination is appropriate if you have been diagnosed with macular degeneration, have been identified in the general clinic as having changes to the macular, or have a strong family history of macular degeneration.

Kids’ vision

A child-friendly eye test.

We love looking after kids and our children’s eye examinations are customised to the age and ability of each child. We also have a fabulous range of kids frames and our experienced dispensers that can fit these frames professionally.

Contact lens examination

We’ll help with the fit, delivery and maintenance of your contact lenses.

Whether you are already a contact lens wearer or are considering contact lenses for the first time, we can provide professional advice to ensure the correct type, fit, prescription, use and care of lenses for your eyes and lifestyle. We can assist with fitting of many types of lenses, including lenses for keratoconic patients, fitting for those interested in orthokeratology (vision correction using contact lenses), and fitting of mini-sclerals for those with difficult to fit corneas.

60 minutes (for a new wearer, includes fit and teach)
30 minutes (for existing wearers, includes aftercare)

Cost

$100 for fit and teach and six months of aftercare, $40 for refit or aftercare.

Aviation eye and vision examination

Have your Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) approved eye test.

Our senior optometrist, Jason Booth, is CASA accredited optometrist and can help with all civil aviation and defence eye testing requirements for qualified and student pilots. They can perform all testing relevant to aviation including an Optec 900 (Farnsworth Lantern style) test. For this examination it is necessary to dilate the pupils, so please bring sunglasses and arrange someone to drive you home.

Sports vision examination

We offer a sports vision test for a range of activities.

Flinders Health2GO can help with all sports-related vision enquiries, including the provision of glasses for shooting, prescription masks for divers, glasses for snooker or billiards as well as the provision of custom eyewear for cycling. Optometrist Neil Murray has years of experience in helping both professional and recreational sports people, including as an optometrist at the Atlanta Olympics Games Village Medical Centre in 1996 and was Director of all eye services at the Sydney Olympic and Paralympic Games village medical centres.

Occupational vision examination

Maintain a safe workplace with our occupational vision screening and supply of appropriate eyewear.

For office work, we supply a wide range of occupational lenses that complement existing eyewear requirements or provide a solution for specific occupational requirements. For safety glasses, we provide safety glasses needed for most occupational needs. Our prescribed prescription safety eyewear complies with AS/NZS 1337.6:2007 and are available in various styles and sizes.

Neurological examination

We are experts in acquired or congenital abnormalities with eye movements or visual fields.

We provide a considered investigation of the individual’s eye alignment, eye movements and visual fields. This may include a Hess screen, Bjerrum screen, or automated visual fields. These exams are available if you have known issues with visual fields or eye movement, or if you have had a recent injury affecting your eyes or vision.
