Mealtime Explorers

The Health2GO Mealtime Explorers Program is a student-led, interdisciplinary service delivered by Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology and Nutrition and Dietetics students at Flinders University, with direct supervision from experienced clinicians and Clinical Educators from Flinders Medical Centre and Flinders University.

Mealtime Explorers is aimed at children 1-6 years old who have feeding difficulties or fussy eating. It will focus on the introduction and acceptance of new foods for children with feeding concerns through exploration of food textures and colours. It will adopt an evidenced-based approach, which combines motor, oral feeding, behavioural, sensory and nutritional aspects to address feeding difficulties in children. Additionally, the program will offer support and education opportunities for parents to learn about and discuss practical strategies to address the feeding difficulties that their children are facing. The program is offered via individual or group format with children of similar level of feeding.

The Mealtime Explorers group program is delivered in 10-week blocks aligning with the school terms during the year. The program welcomes referrals for children aged 1-6 years of age from health professionals as well as self-referrals.
